BELMONT—Anthony Pazasis, (88), of 22 Heritage Terrace, died at home on May 2, 2013. Anthony was born in Boston, Massachusetts on July 10, 1924 to Felix and Justina (Gatoveckas) Pazasis. Anthony resided in Canton, Massachusetts before moving to the Lakes Region 35 years ago. He was an advertising executive for many companies including Turnstyle department stores; he established Pazasis publications in Canton, Massachusetts and owned three newspapers, including the Canton Reporter. Anthony was a singer and musician, acting as music director and organist for several Catholic churches around Massachusetts. He and his wife were owners of the Winnisquam Market for many years in Winnisquam, New Hampshire. Anthony was known for doing many things, but was especially fond of composing music for church services. Anthony is survived by two sons; Richard A. Pazasis and his wife Lee, and Frank W. Pazasis; a daughter, Janice B. Arsenault, and her husband James; one grandchild, Ryan Pazasis. Anthony was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Bernadette, in 2009. There will be no calling hours. Belmont—–David E. Chamberlain, 76, of 341 Ladd Hill Road, died on Sunday April 28, 2013 at Lakes Region General Hospital after a long illness. He leaves behind his loving family including his wife of 55 years, Beverly A. Hart; two daughters, Denise Lynn Betourne, and her husband, Norman A. of Gilmanton, Deborah C. Lee, and her husband, Theodore, of Bedford; two grandchildren, Ashley Smith and Lee Smith; 3 step grandchildren, Elisabeth Lee, Allison Lee, and Prescott Lee; a brother, Raymond Chamberlain, and his wife, June, of Gilford; a sister, Frances Cormier, and her husband, Ronald, of Gilford and several nephews and nieces. In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by a brother Alfred J. Chamberlain, Jr. and by two sisters, Theresa Pelkie and Elaine Harbour. David was born November 23, 1936 in Franklin the son of Alfred J. and Ida R. (Bergeron) Chamberlain, Sr. He had been a resident of Belmont for the past fifty years. David was head of maintenance for the Belknap County Nursing Home for many years and also for the Holy Trinity Catholic School. He was a life long member of the Laconia Lodge of Elks No. 876. David was an avid wood-worker and enjoyed many hours working on family projects at his home. He also enjoyed spending time fishing on his boat with his wife and dog that he loved dearly. He loved to ride his motorcycle with his wife and their best friends. David served in the New Hampshire National Guard from 1956 to 1963. There will be no calling hours. BELMONT—–Phyllis May Fogg, 79, of 180 Seavey Road, Belmont, passed away at the Lakes Region General Hospital on Thursday, May 23, 2013, after a long illness. She was the widow of James Fogg, Jr. Mrs. Fogg was born in England on October 3, 1933, the daughter of the late Philip and Olive May (Jones) Wilcox. She worked at Belmont Hosiery until her retirement. On August 30, 1983, Mrs. Fogg became an U. S. Citizen. Survivors include a daughter, Deborah (Fogg) Brazier, of Belmont; a grandson, Craig Fogg, of Belmont; a great grandson, Landon Fogg, of Holderness; one sister, Marget Hobbs, of England; nieces and nephews and her companion, James Marden, Sr. of Belmont. Richard A. Larssen, 78, of Berlin, died at his home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, May 31st. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Audrey M. (Hamlin) Larssen of Berlin.
Richard was born in Arlington and raised in Lexington, son of the late Wilhelm and Marion (Squires) Larssen. He attended local schools in Lexington and was a long time member of the Massachusetts National Guard. He resided in Chelmsford and Marlborough for a short time before moving to Berlin in 1972. He owned and operated Larssen Farm in Berlin for many years following his purchase of the property in 1972. He truly cherished his farming career and the raising of his pigs was his true passion.
Richard enjoyed playing solitaire in his spare time and loved to be outdoors hunting or fishing during the seasons. He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed a good NASCAR Race. He loved and cherished his entire family and they will truly miss him.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Richard Larssen and his wife Charlene of Hudson, Lalah Larssen Peirce and her husband Wayne Peirce of Belmont, NH, Peter Larssen and his wife Michelle of Berlin, Carl Larssen and his girlfriend Tina Paskell of Berlin, Audrey Goodwin and her husband Patrick of Greenville, SC, Katrina Gleason and her boyfriend Sean Murdock of Hudson, Heidi Shea and her husband Patrick of Hampton, VA and Frederick Cummings and his wife Amy of Lancaster. He is also survived by two sisters, Barbara Johnson and her husband Arthur of Chelmsford, Sandra Cotton of Springhill, FL; three brothers, William Larssen of Springhill, FL, Robert Larssen and his wife Barbara of Colbrook, NH, Lawrence Larssen and his wife Iris of Chelmsford; his 19 loving grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 5th at 11:00 a.m. in the First Parish Church, 24 Central Street, Berlin. Burial will follow in North Cemetery, Berlin. BELMONT – Barbara E. Smith, 85, of 85 Depot Street, died Sunday, June 9, 2013 at Lakes Region General Hospital.
She was born on December 15, 1927, in Barre, Vermont, the daughter of William E. and Agnes A. (Bishop) Nichols. Barbara worked for several years as a shipper for Lewis & Saunders, Inc. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish in Belmont and enjoyed sewing and completing puzzles.
She is survived by three sons; Arthur D. Betourne of Belmont, Gary A. Betourne of Lochemere and Randy A. Betourne of Gilford, six grandchildren; Kari L. Smith, Beth Fry, George W. Ladnay, Chris V. Ladnay, all of Belmont, Kim Betourne and Ken Betourne, both of NH, 8 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two husbands; Arthur H. Betourne and Howard A. Smith, two brothers; Frank Nichols and William Nichols and one daughter-in-law, Rosella M. Betourne in 2012.

Belmont—–Ernest E. Fortin, Jr., 71, of 8 High Street, died in the Emergency Room at the Concord Hospital on Saturday, June 8, 2013.
Ernie was born June 22, 1941 in Dover, N.H., the son of Ernest E. and Regina C. (Clairmont) Fortin.
Ernie was a lifetime resident of Belmont and graduated from Belmont High School in 1959. He had been employed at Cantin Chevrolet, Inc. for twenty-seven years and had also been employed at Belmont High School for ten years.
Ernie was a communicant of St. Joseph Parish, Belmont, though he was more likely to be seen out front mowing the lawn than seated in one of the pews. He loved to be outside, and could always be counted on if there was grass to mow, snow to move, hay to be brought in, or trees to cut. He was a lifelong fan of the Green Bay Packers and was a proud shareholder in the organization. He was known for his warm smile and ready laugh, and always had a joke to tell.
Survivors include two daughters, Robin Moyer and her husband, Mike, and Jennifer Lacey and her husband, Larry, all of Belmont; three grandchildren, Mary Lacey, Emma Lacey and David Lacey ; his fiancée, Bonnie Nadin, of Belmont and his first wife, Jane (Jacobs) Fortin, of Laconia. In addition to his parents, Ernie was predeceased by his former wife, Susan (Gove) Fortin, and by a sister, Elaine E. Fortin.

Belmont—-Suzanne (Sickmon) Roberts, 88, of 164 Brown Hill Road, died Friday, June 14, 2013 at her home surrounded by family, after a full and active life. She was the widow of Leslie E. Roberts who died in July, 2001.
Mrs. Roberts was born April 24, 1925 in Chico, California, the daughter of the late Clive H. and Sara E. (Leitzell) Sickmon. She was a graduate of Classical High School in Springfield, Mass and received her B.A. and M. S. Degrees from the University of New Hampshire. Between college and graduate school, Mrs. Roberts taught sciences and math at Farmington High School, and following her marriage, she taught math at Carpenter School, Wolfeboro. The couple then purchased the Badger Homestead in Belmont where they farmed and raised their five children. Mrs. Roberts had been a resident of Belmont since 1950 and was the assistant principal at Belmont High School for twenty-seven years before retiring in 1993.
Mrs. Roberts had been a member of the Belmont Baptist Church since 1950. She was the current Church Moderator and was a member of the Ladies’ Circle. She was a supervisor the Check List for the Town of Belmont, was a school board member, a trustee of Trust Funds, a member of the Old Home Day Committee, a member of the Belmont Rotary Club, a charter member of the Belmont Historical Society, the Friendly Club and a member of the Board of Directors of Heavenly Sunshine Pre-school. She was also a member of the Belknap County 4-H Foundation, Farm Bureau, the 4-H Association, a Commissioner of the Gunstock Recreation Area and a current board member of Roberts Cove, Inc., Alton.
In recognition of her many contributions to the town, Mrs. Roberts received several awards, including the Rotary Club’s Paul Harris Award and in 1999, the New Hampshire and National Assistant Principal Award.
She leaves her sons, Clive E. Roberts and his wife, Carlene Ann Hyslop Roberts, Mark W. Roberts and his wife, Kristine Wilson Roberts, and Roy T. Roberts and his wife, Terry M. Bolduc Roberts all of Belmont; her daughters, Lynn R. Wilson and her husband, John F. Wilson of Brandon, Vermont and Diane C. Roberts and her husband, Robert Mackey, of Tucson, Arizona; fourteen grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Roberts was predeceased by her brother, Charles W. Sickmon.

Mrs. Dore was born September 16, 1933 in Sanford, Maine, the daughter of the late Leslie and Elaise (Burham) Lord.
Mrs. Dore resided in the Lakes Region for most of her life. She was a member of the Laconia Emblem Club #80 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Laconia Post #1670 Auxiliary.
Survivors include her daughter, Lynn M. Martin, and a grandson, Owen N. Martin, both of Laconia.

Belmont—Rose Lucy (Giamarino) Hassler, 84 years young, of 54-A Magnolia Lane, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Sunday, August 18, 2013. She was the widow of Gerhard Hassler, who passed away in November 0f 2012.
Mrs. Hassler was born December 13, 1928 in Naples, Italy, the daughter of Carmine and Antoinette Giamarino. She was a long-time resident of Framingham, Mass. before moving to Belmont, N.H. eight years ago where she was a communicant of St. Joseph Parish.
Mrs. Hassler had been employed at the Walk-in Medical Care in Framingham, Mass. for over thirty years before retiring in 2003. As an allergist, Rosie was wellrespected and loved by her patients who sought her advices even after retirement.
Mrs. Hassler was a dedicated wife, mother, grandparent and friend. She will remain in our hearts forever. She is survived by two sons, Richard Hassler and his wife, Jolie, of Gilford, NH and Gerard Hassler and his wife, Karen, of Switzerland; seven grandchildren, Danielle Hassler, R.J. Hassler, Michael Hassler, Mark Hassler and Janelle Hassler, all of Gilford, NH and Max Hassler and Nick Hassler from Switzerland and a niece, Jeanette DiFillipo, of New York.

John was born May 27, 1930 in Charlestown, Mass., the son of John W. and Margaret (Hows) Duggan. John was an avid race fan and loved the Boston Red Sox.

BELMONT—Russell Myron Glines, 59, of 5 Spruce Drive, Belmont, passed away at Lakes Region General Hospital on August 28, 2013.
Russell was born on July 29, 1954 in Whitefield, N.H. He was predeceased by his loving parents, Richard and Priscilla Glines. He resided in Belmont, N.H. for the past 13 years. Russell grew up in Twin Mountain and graduated from White Mountain Regional High School in Whitefield, N.H. in 1972. Russell worked for Elektrisola Incorporated in Boscawen, N.H. from 1987 to his retirement in 2010.
Russell was beloved and well known and developed a solid reputation for sharing his compassion, stories and wisdom. He was an avid reader, loved children and enjoyed all the New England sports teams, especially the New England Patriots. He was a lifelong fisherman and enjoyed hunting, as well as spending time with his loving family.
Russell leaves behind his wife of 24 years, Doreen Glines, as well as his immediate family; Tabitha LaRoche, Amy Glines and her significant other Dwayne Long Jr., and Paul and Heather Bouchard. He celebrated the births of 6 grandchildren; Davianna Thomson, Alexandra Reed, Olivia Aherns, Danyelle Hines, Richard Hines and Cody Bouchard. Russell also has 8 surviving siblings; Joan Starkey and her husband, William, of Keene, Richard Glines Jr. and his wife, Sheila, of Intervale, Louise Staples and her husband, John, of Twin Mountain, Linda Leavitt and her husband, Larry, of Littleton, June Hart and her husband, Alton, of Randolph, Susan Pilotte and husband, David, of Littleton, , Murray Glines and his wife, Rona, of Lancaster, and David Glines of Raleigh, North Carolina. He will also be missed dearly by many nieces and nephews. Russell’s family would also like to extend an expression of gratitude to Chris and Andrea Bartz, of whom are close family friends and were there to assist in Russell’s care.

Belmont—–Robert J. Brooks, Sr, 82, of 7 Witham Road, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Sunday, September 15, 2013.
Robert was born July 21, 1931 in Lakeport, N.H., the son of Frank and Mary (McMurphy) Brooks.
Mr. Brooks served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He was a lifelong resident of the Laconia/Belmont area and had been employed at Hebert’s Foundry and Scott & Williams.
Robert was CB radio operator and was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed camping, hunting and clam digging.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-six years, Grace (Provencal) Brooks, of Belmont; two sons, Robert J. Brooks, Jr. of Bristol and Vern Brooks of Laconia; a daughter, Susan Cutler, of Laconia; six grandchildren; several great grandchildren and a sister, Alice, of New Hampshire. In addition to his parents, Mr. Brooks was predeceased by a son-in-law, Allan L. Cutler, in 2010 and by three brothers, Henry Brooks, Joe Brooks and Frank Brooks.

BELMONT – Richard Louis Bernard, 72, of 39 Dutile Shore Road, died Sunday, September 22, 2013 at Lakes Region General Hospital.
He was born on October 5, 1940 in Lawrence, Mass., the son of Louis O. and Isabella D. (Houle) Bernard. Richard served in the US Coast Guard. He worked as owner and operator of Richard L. Bernard & Son, specializing in building and remodeling. Richard was the former owner of the Lord Hampshire Motel in Winnisquam, where he expanded and converted sections into condos. He was the recipient of the Golden Hammer Award for his work on the Lord Hampshire remodel. Richard enjoyed antique cars and boats, woodworking and especially spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Patricia (McKay) Bernard of Belmont, two sons; James D. Dexter and his wife Amy of Colorado and Richard Bernard and his wife Cherie of Salem, NH, three daughters; Charlene Brenner and her husband Karl of Holden, MA, Britini Shields and her husband Derrick of Belmont and Christine Dexter of Derry, eleven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Gibbs was born April 28, 1920 in Saugus, Mass., the daughter of the late George W. and Pearl (Townsend) Smith. She resided in Saugus, Mass. for many years and was a member of the Saugus Congregational Church. In 1972, she moved to Laconia.

Adams and her husband, George, of Barrington and Linda J. Chartier of Laconia; 13grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gibbs was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Ralph E. Gibbs, in 1998 and her brother Chester Parker of Bridgton, Maine.
She enjoyed painting, making handmade cards, camping, and needlework and truly loved her arts and crafts.
Marion treasured all the special moments with her family and she had a smile for everyone. She touched many people’s hearts with her warm and welcoming demeanor.

F. Virginia Scott 9/29/2013 Belmont, NH
Belmont—- F. Virginia “Ginny” (Duncan) Scott, 86, died at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon on Sunday, September 29, 2013 following a brief period of failing health. She was the widow of Howard E. Scott who died October 22, 1984.
Virginia was born March 20, 1927 in Wethersfield, Conn., the daughter of the late Edward and Adelaide (Stonebridge) Duncan. She moved to the Laconia area in the 1960’s. She proudly owned and operated Prestige Secretarial Services of Laconia as well as prepared Income Tax returns for many local individuals and small businesses. She also worked as a secretary for a local legal firm , was the City of Laconia Dept. of Public Works Secretary for over thirty years and was the Sexton at Bayside Cemetery for over thirty years.
Virginia was instrumental in the Charter organization of the Laconia Assembly #3 of the International Order of Rainbow Girls in 1967. She also served numerous years as their Mother Advisor as well as Advisory Board Member. Virginia was a dedicated and currently active 50-year member/officer and Past Matron of the Peabody –Mount Washington Order of the Eastern Star #35, Tilton, N.H. Ginny epitomized a commitment to charity to the members of the community and was always putting others needs above her own. She was a 43-year member of the Order of White Shrine of Jerusalem. She held membership in Rugged Cross Shrine # 5 of Boscawen, NH and had been a member of Shrines in both E. Hartford and Glastonbury, CT. She served as Worthy High Priestess seven times. Virginia was chosen to assist the Supreme Secretary in the 1980’s with the stenography and printing of the Supreme session records and as a result of her work was asked to continue with this responsibility for more than 20 years. She also held several Supreme appointments over the years and traveled throughout the New England Shrines to assist and instruct their members. In 2001 she was awarded the Continuous Service Award for her dedication. Virginia was also a member of the Order of Amaranth and was past Royal Queen.
Survivors include two sons, Edward A. Malone of Aruba and Kenneth D. Malone of Belmont; a granddaughter, Kendra Malone, of Manchester; a brother, Richard Duncan, of West Hartford, Conn. and nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Mont Duncan of Newington, Conn. and “Red” Duncan of Wethersfield, Conn. as well as two sisters, Vera (Duncan) Ryan of Dallas, TX and Marion (Duncan) Zeppa of Manchester, Conn.

Belmont—–Arthur A. Guilmett, 72, of 334 Dutile Road, died on Sunday, October 6, 2013 at Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia.
Mr. Guilmett was born December 6, 1940 in Laconia, N.H., the son of the late Arthur E. and Pauline M. (Dulac) Guilmett.
Mr. Guilmett was a long time resident of the Laconia/Belmont area. He graduated from Laconia High School in 1959 and served in the U. S. Navy from 1962. He had been employed at Allen Rogers for 16 ½ years and at Quin-T Corp. for 17 years before retiring in December, 2002.
Mr. Guilmett was a communicant of St. Joseph Parish, Belmont. He was a life member of the Laconia Lodge of Elks #876, a life member of the Belknap County Sportsmens Association, a former member of the St. Jean’s Society, was 3rd Degree Knight and 4th Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus and was also a past member and officer of the Lakes Region Management Club.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Florence (Nadeau) Guilmett, of Belmont; three sons, Arthur J. Guilmett and his wife, JoAnn, of Plymouth, Christopher A. Guilmett and his wife, Marlee, of Laconia and Michael S. Guilmett and his wife, Kimberly, of Rapid City, S.D.; a daughter, Brenda C. Guilmett, of Franklin; three grandchildren, Jared Guilmett and Garrett Guilmett both of Laconia and Kathleen Guilmett of Plymouth; a brother, Mark M. Guilmett, and his wife, Deborah, of Farmington; a sister, Alice, and several nieces and nephews.

Belmont – Havana Eve O’Flaherty, 2, of 5 Village Apartment Rd, died Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon.
She was born on March 15, 2011 in Concord, the daughter of Joe O’Flaherty and Crystal Case. Known as Little Miss Havana Eve, a 2 ½ year old that had a smile of gold and eyes that sparkled like diamonds. Her contagious laugh always had people in smiles. Havana, not the average 2 year old, was very well mannered, smart and always happy. She enjoyed dancing, singing, reading stories and playing with children of all ages. She had a connection with animals that one could not describe. She was the perfect toddler that everyone adored. Havana attended Heavenly Sunshine Daycare in Belmont.
She is survived by her mother, Crystal Case of Belmont, her father, Joe O’Flaherty of Laconia, her maternal grandparents Denise A. Potter of Gilford and Raymond L. Case of York, Maine, her paternal grandparents Thomas E. O’Flaherty of Portsmouth and Panama and Ginny Boyd of Gilmanton I.W., her maternal great grandmother, Diane Potter of Laconia, her paternal great grandmother, Mary E. Boyd of Wallingford, CT, her six uncles; Derek R. Case and his partner Kimberly Mignosa of Elliot, Maine, Danny W. Case of Franklin, Joseph A. BELMONT – Donna Lee Marcoux, 52, of 6 Gove Drive, died Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Lakes Region General Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on July 5, 1961 in Laconia, the daughter of Arthur J. Sr. and Sandra (Jewell) Gilbert. Donna worked for Anna Lee Dolls for ten years and also for NH Ball Bearing as a cleaner/finisher. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish in Belmont. Donna was an antique car enthusiast. She spent many hours with her husband attending cruise nights and car shows. She also was a fan of the 1950’s era.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis E. Marcoux of Belmont, three brothers; Arthur Gilbert and his fiancé Tina Berg of Belmont, Dennis Gilbert and his significant other Juanita Berg of Laconia and Paul Gilbert and his wife Bonnie of Franklin, one sister, Belinda Cotton and her husband Joe of Gilmanton and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents.

Belmont—Roland C. Soucy passed away at his home in Belmont, New Hampshire, after a short illness, on October 20, 2013.
Mr. Soucy was born in Grand Isle, Maine on August 27, 1929, the son of Sylvan and Blanche (Thibodeau) Soucy. As a child, the family moved to Bristol, Conn. where Roland attended Bristol schools. He served in the U.S. Army during the Occupation of Japan. He was a Plumber and Pipefitter Union Member Local #777.
Mr. Soucy is survived by his four children; Lori Soucy Kincade, Lynn Soucy Fritz and Dennis (Sally) Soucy, all from Jacksonville, Fla. and Blair (Sharon) Soucy from Terryville, Conn.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Sylvio Soucy, Guy (Elsie) Soucy, and Francis (Florence) Soucy and two sisters, Nancy (Stanley) Suchinski, all from Bristol, Conn. and Theresa (Lee) Gelormino of Harwington, Conn. In addition to his parents, Mr. Soucy was predeceased by his sister, Lorraine Bragdon, of Bristol, Conn.
Mr. Soucy will be laid to rest at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH. A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at 3:00pm.

Carl Segelstrom III 10/25/2013 Belmont, NH
BELMONT – Carl V. Segelstrom III, 58, of 17 Spring Street, died Friday, October 25, 2013 in his home after a sudden illness.
He was born on January 27, 1955 in Beverly, Mass., the son of Carl V. Jr. and Barbara M. (Carey) Segelstrom. Carl worked for several years as a motorcycle riding instructor for the State of New Hampshire, also serving as mentoring coach. He also worked as site manager for the motorcycle range at Lakes Region Community College in Laconia. Carl was an avid motorcyclist.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Susan (Barros) Segelstrom of Belmont, two sons; Adam Segelstrom and Christopher Segelstrom, both of Belmont, two daughters; Rachel Segelstrom of Belmont and Jennifer Duffy of Ohio, three sisters; Carolyn Segelstrom of Arlington, Mass., Marcia Siracusa of Woburn, Mass. and Jill Kervick of Stoneham, Mass., one granddaughter, Lylyan Rose Mahoney of Belmont and several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Gail Lepenven.
